A Red Balloon

While at the pool with my son, I happened to notice a red balloon floating along at the mercy of the wind. As I watched it drift along, I decided to snap a picture.

As we watched the balloon float along, my son said, “I wish I could just float along like that balloon.”

At the time, I didn’t think much of it. But his observation stuck with me throughout the day.

It made me think of all those people moving through life seemingly directionless, without goals, waiting for whatever opportunity comes their way.

“That’s just the way it is. I can’t do anything about it.”

There are SO many people out there with true potential, yet they watch opportunity pass them by. If you don’t know what you want, then it doesn’t really matter where you go, or what you do.

Think about your life right now, where do you fit in? Have you given up on your potential or are you hungry to change and improve your life? Do you feel like a balloon stuck in a tree?

I’m sharing this experience with you because I’d like you to think about the direction your life is taking. Are you drifting along carefree without direction or goals?

Plato said, “Lack of activity destroys the good condition of every human being, while movement and methodical physical exercise save it and preserve it.”

If you feel like you’re drifting, STOP! You are under no obligation to be the person you were a year, a month, or even 15 minutes ago. You have everything inside you right now to become anything you want. Take control. Fight against the current. Change your direction.
