Working Your Weaknesses


The Sport of Fitness requires an endless arsenal of skills. What makes CrossFit such an amazing fitness program is that there is always a way to upgrade your arsenal. This gives us continual goals and objectives to work toward, making our quest for elite fitness limitless. With this in mind, remember that getting better is about transforming your weaknesses into strengths.

But training your weaknesses goes beyond the aspects of physical training. Forcing yourself to face your weaknesses can do wonders for psyche, as well.

It’s important to understand that just because you struggle with something, that doesn’t mean you have to continue to struggle. Your attitude and focus on days when the workout is something you struggle with needs to change. Rather than being discouraged about the workout or avoiding it all together, you should be extra focused and excited about the opportunity to grow as an athlete.

If you focus on your weaknesses, you have limitless potential. Weaknesses aren’t bad; weaknesses show us our greatest opportunity to improve as an athlete because we’re able to recognize the things that are holding us back.

Don’t let an unfamiliar or unfriendly movement determine how much effort will be put into your the day’s training.

The process of improvement never stops. No matter what level you’re currently at, there’s always room to improve. Stay focused on the long-term goal of becoming efficient. Mastering movements takes time. Practice the basics, and become a master of the details.
